When the football flies high into the air, its’ black and white pattern merges into the red of the sunset sky, in which high above flies a bird. This bird belongs into a dream. This beginning is programmatic: the various levels of experiences merge seamless into each other and tell us about the imponderability to grow up: dreams and expectations, work, the frustration and the music which allows us to dance above everything: rhythm of the heart … Two young women live together with little Angie somewhere in the suburbs. What are their expectations? This film is a fragile web of every day gestures and small escapes. Ildiko dreams of passionate pirates, she wants to get out. Uschi looks into the skies, she will stay. “In 200 years men will live on the Mars, or won’t.” Everything is possible. Lost in space … Who knows, maybe there exists also a paradise for Angie’s dead guinea pig. Expectations stay in place and balance, but shouldn’t happiness be possible? Just for you … Selection of FESTIVALS Win Femme Film Festival, Los Angeles 1999: Best Short Film |
