Release of Me, We on July 23, 2021
Me, We tells the story of four Europeans, whose attitudes towards migration and asylum is shattered forever.
For the release of Me, We director David Clay Diaz and some of the actors, including Lukas Miko, Verena Altenberger, Barbara Romaner, Alexander Srtschin, Mehdi Meskar, will go on a premiere tour through Austria. On selected evenings they will be available for a Q&A to talk about their filming experiences (including on the island of Lesbos).

Quo Vadis, Aida? by Jasmila Žbanić was nominated for the Oscar "Best International Feature". The film also received two BAFTA nominations ("Best Film not in the English Language" and "Best Director") and most recently won the "Knight MARIMBAS Award" in Miami.

Jasmila Žbanić's new feature film about the Srebrenica massacre has been selected for the competition of the Venice Int. Film Festival (this year chaired by Cate Blanchett).

Austrian premiere at this year's VIENNALE
LITTLE JOE by Jessica Hausner - Emily Beecham won the "Best performance by an actress" at the Cannes Film Festival, will have its Austrian premiere at this year's VIENNALE 2019 and will be in Austrian cinemas from November 1st.

WORLD'S SHORTEST POEM
We are happy to announce the kick off of the debut feature "World's Shortest Poem" by the young director David Clay Diaz. The shooting will take place in summer 2019 in Austria and Greece, supported by a wonderful team.

The second feature film directed by Shirin Neshat premiered at last years Venice Film Festival. A film within a film, “Looking for Oum Kulthum” is the plight of an Iranian woman artist/filmmaker living in exile, as she embarks on capturing the life and art of the legendry female singer of the Arab world, Oum Kulthum. Through her difficult journey, not unlike her heroine’s, she has to face the struggles, sacrifices and the price that a woman has to pay if she dares to cross the lines of a conservative male dominated society.

Martin Šulík ('The Garden') directs Peter Simonischek und Jiří Menzel backtracing their parents' past. A road.movie that will celebrate it's world premier on February, 23rd, the 80th birthday of Jiri Menzel (Academy award winning director himself) in the section 'Berlinale Special at Kino International'.
Austrians cinema release on the 3rd of November
A group of German construction workers start a tough job at a remote building site in the Bulgarian countryside. The foreign land awakens the men's sense of adventure, but they are also confronted with their own prejudice and mistrust due to the language barrier and cultural differences. The stage is quickly set for a showdown when two men begin to compete for recognition and favor from the local villagers.

For his - in the jury's words - 'precise, wonderfully unagitated look on daily athmosphere' Händl Klaus is awarded the Thomas-Pluch-Script-Prize. Philipp Hochmair impressed the jury with his 'seemingly effortlessly balanced depiction of grand emotions and tiniest hints' and won the Diagonale Actor's Award. Our Congratulations!

We are very excited that Händl Klaus' TOMCAT is nomninated for the Austrian Film Award in the following five categories 'Best Film', 'Best Director', 'Best Script', 'Best Cinematography' (Gerald Kerkletz) und 'Best Editing' (Joana Scrinzi). Furthermore Peter Simonischek is nominated as 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' as TONI ERDMANN. Maren Ade's film already pocketed five European Film Awards for 'Best Film', 'Best Director', 'Best Script', 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' (Sandra Hüller) and 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' and is now not only nominated for the Golden Globes but also on the OSCAR shortlist for 'Best Foreign Language Film'.

Begin of shooting
After the first, intensive shooting phase in Morocco, the team now moves to Austria, where on Nov., 26th the kick-off for the Vienna-shooting will take place. We are happy to work again with Shirin Neshat, an artist reknown around the world. Our first collaboration Women Without Men won the 'Silver lion' at the Venice Film Festival 2009. Here in Vienna some key moments of Oum Kulthum's career will come to live, such as the first ever concert of the 'Maria Callas' of the Arabic World.
We are happy to annouce that KATER/TOMCAT (R: Händl Klaus) will premiere in the course of Viennale Vienna International Film Festival in Austria on Tuesday, November 1st 2016, at 5:30 pm at Gartenbaukino. An additional screening will take place on the 2nd of November at 1 pm at Urania, before it launches in cinemas on the 4th of November Austria-wide. (The Vienna based among you will have to wait untill November 11th 2016 due to the Viennale...)
FIPRESCI Grand Prix

After the FIPRESCI Award in Cannes, TONI ERDMANN was honored with the FIPRESCI Grand Prix for best film of the year at the San Sebastianl Film Festival.
Toni Erdmann himself aka Peter Simonischek and Janine Jackowski, one of the producers, accepted the prize on Maren Ade's behalf .

After it was celebrated in Cannes by both critics and audience, Maren Ade's new feature TONI ERDMANN will now come to Austrian and German cinemas.
Release dates are Thursday. July 14th, for Germany and Friday, July 15th, for Austria.
The shooting has begun
On Tuesday, May, 3rd, the first clapper fell. Our mindgame film TIERE stars Birgit Minichmayr and Phillip Hochmair in the leading roles. Director of our co-production with Tellfilm and Opus Film is Greg Zglinski (Le Temps d'Anna). The first half of the shootijng will take place here in and around Vienna, before the production moves ob to Switzerland and for a few days to Poland.
